What We Do
ECRI’s core purpose revolves around “raising the bar in risk management” for the benefit of the industry as a whole. This involves the participation of high-level individuals from Sponsoring companies who are committed to improving business conditions. ECRI connects these companies and global participants to advance and improve business conditions and the industry as a whole, particularly around the key issue of Risk Management. Our energy is focused on 7 core Strategic Work Fronts.
Strategic Work Fronts
ECRI Sponsor Forums are bi-annual conferences held globally to discuss current issues and topics of interest to the E&C community. Presentations are conducted by Sponsors and selected third parties.

High-level Sponsor representatives, with common interests, meet in small groups to discuss and address specific industry issues.
ECRI SIGs focus on: Mega Projects, Oil & Gas, Development, Building, Civil, Power & Infrastructure (DBCPI) and Worker Welfare among other topics.
Meetings are convened twice-a-year with agendas developed by the Sponsor attendees. Attendance is limited to 8 – 12 participants.

Best Practice Index
By request, ECRI will perform a site review of a Sponsors’ risk management processes, procedures and organization. These reviews are strictly confidential and are performed through interviews with key Sponsor personnel and the review of risk management documents.

Education & Training Calendar
ECRI fosters and maintains strong links with secondary stakeholders whose business activities directly support the E&C Industry: banking, bonding, finance, management consultancy, insurance, legal and other specialist advisors.
We bring cross-industry advice, experience and learnings to the world of E&C via presentations and webinars for the benefit of our Sponsors.

We work with our Sponsors to promote engagement with Client organizations and other industry bodies in pursuit of ECRI’s objective to drive the improvement of business conditions for the E&C Industry as a whole.
Client engagement is selective and conducted as an adjunct to our bi-annual Sponsor meetings to raise the profile of work performed by ECRI and its Sponsors in the area of Risk Management. Through dialogue we promote an optimal balance between risk and reward for the E&C Industry. With ECRI’s Client Outreach activities, Best Practices and Education and Training Program, we work with our Sponsors to encourage Clients to embrace improvements in business conditions via our institutionalizing of Risk Awareness and Management among the Contracting Community.
ECRI maintains regular and frequent contact with the World Economic Forum and Industry Bodies, Institutions, Associations, Academia to raise the profile of ECRI and its Sponsors. We participate, where appropriate, in the project risk management work being performed by these organizations. ECRI reviews and analyzes the relevant work products of these organizations and shares these with our Sponsors. On a selective basis, ECRI invites industry bodies and academia to attend the Day 2 proceedings of our semi-annual Sponsors Meetings.
